Plangnan Damshakal, Climate Adaptation Specialist, Mercy Corps

Plangnan Damshakal is an Environmentalist, climate adaptation specialist, researcher and humanitarian from Nigeria. She is a youth adaptation delegate for the Global dialogue on adaptation; delivering on the Glasgow pact, Global centre on Adaptation (GCA). She is the founder of the Eco-friendly Africa Initiative(EFAI); an initiative that networks young climate activists across Africa for climate actions and to promote sustainable development Goals (SDGs) in Africa. She has over 7 years of experience working as humanitarian fighting against climate change with support from organizations like the Ban Ki Moon centre for Global Citizens(BKMC), and the Global Centre on Adaptation(GCA). She is currently working on a contract with Mercy Corps.

Plangnan Holds a Bachelor ‘s degree in Geography and MSc Remote Sensing and GIS (in view), from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She is a professional member of the Geo-Information Society of Nigeria (GEOSON), a member of Commonwealth Youth Climate Network (CYCN) and a climate ambassador for Global youth Climate Network (GYCN).
